"Flossanova"

is the second release from The Dub Dentist.

2CD's, 25 rhythm driven tracks, over 2 hours of diverse music with influences of dub, jazz, dance, electro, latin, world and funk (and just about everything in between!) all delivered with deep melodic basslines.

The DD's first album "Selection Without Objection" was one of the albums of the week in November '08 on Sydney's Radio FBI and was played extensively on radio stations Australia wide, nationally on JJJ and Radio National and internationally. The DDs music has featured on several documentaries including "Bunlap - Tribal Life" on the Discovery Channel, "Maldives Surf Pro Am" on the Nine network and on "Good Gamer" on the ABC, "Means of Production" an extreme sport DVD, as well as on short film and web advertising including "The Seven Bridges Walk" for the NSW Government.

Included on the album are two collaborations with Sydney Flautist Eleanor Baker "Flossanova" and the d'n'b inluenced "Borneo Dreams". Trumpet by Raphael Corderdos is again featured on "Rise" and the hard funk of "The Squirrel Gripper". Electro funk, twangin' guitars and doo wap vocals feature on "Tessa Toodies' and hard percussive tribal rhythms dominate "Fuck Yeah" (Mapouka)..........as featured on You Tube. "Roadkill" features breakbeat traffic mayhem and contrasts with the serene sounds of "Arabesque" and the hypnotic pulse of "Voodoo Glow"

The Dub Dentist
djdk@dubdentist.com
Music addict since the age of 12, a compulsive record collector, sometime DJ, Dental Surgeon (yeah for real!), and of late, music producer. Several years in London infused the Dentist with a love of reggae, dub, dancehall and the genres they spawned, always a sucker for a sweet bassline and a good rhythm. He was eventually inspired to create his own. Been making music for the past few years, several tunes having been aired on a swag of community stations around Sydney including FBI, 2SER, Bondi FM and on JJJ nationally. Producer of "The 'F' Word", one of the most requested tunes on JJJ in 2004, the music traverses all boundaries from dub to dance, from acid to hip hop, from ambient to just downright twisted. You can hear 20 years of influences in these tunes, the bottom line being that the music was fun to make, and hopefully just as much fun to enjoy!
